this looks like metric propaganda to me.
the BBC has along had a metrication agenda. The weather forecasts have virtually disposed of English now. Watch out next for windspeeds in Kmph.

All GPS devices default to imperial for the UK market so whoever produces this show will have had to override the default setting and actually ASK for metric to be used in place of the assumed UK measures.
